Therapeutic Observation on the Ureteral Injury Complicated by Uterine Surgery

Abstract
|
|
|
An observation was made on 8 cases of ureteral injury complicated by uterine surgery seen during the period from 1965 to 1968. The results were as follows.
1. Uterine surgery responsible for ureteral injury was chiefly radical or total hysterectomy for uterine tumor and a few cases were the operation for uterine rupture or dystocia.
2. Majority of the ureteral injury was found to be ligated or severed in the terminal portion (within 4cm from the ureteral orifice) being chiefly unilateral.
3. For the treatment of ureteral injury ureteroneocystostomy, end to end anastomosis or Boari´s operation was indicated in the majority of the cases and the nephrectomy was performed in only one case.
